So, I now have an Apple Card with no number. I want to buy something online and I click to use a credit card. Not I it asks for the cc number. What do I put there?
Do I have to preload the Apple Card before I use it? If not, where do the funds come from to pay for the item I’m buying?
How do I move funds from my bank to the Apple Card?

Yes add you accounts routing and account number to make payments. Please follow this path:
iPhone > Wallet app > Apple Card > More Button (3 dots in upper right corner) > Card details > scroll down > Bank Accounts > Add a Bank Account > enter routing and account number
The number for the credit card is in your iPhone. Do you have an iPhone?

Yes, found the card number, Exp Date and Security Code in the Wallet on my iPhone.
When I set up Apple Card in my iPad it asked for a Debit Card to fund it.
I don’t have a Debit Card.
I’d like to fund it from a Checking or Savings Account.
How do I do that?

I'm liking this new Apple Card @ 3% Daily Cash back and 4.15%interest Savings account. Life is good!
