Keyboard Misfunction / Malfunction

if i long press a it is not typing as aaaaaaa but showing weird characters like àáâäæãåā as options in my mac m1

That is default behavior in MacOS for the last 10 years or so.


Enter characters with accent marks on Mac - Apple Support



To turn it off, Open the Terminal App in Applications/Utilities and type:


defaults write -g ApplePressAndHoldEnabled -bool false
