iPadOS 17 adds support for external USB-C webcams and microphones. iPadOS 17 will be available later this fall. See Platforms State of the Union - WWDC23 - Videos - Apple Developer.

If an "itouch wearable" is a camera, when iPadOS comes out in the Fall, you may well be able to do that.
