iTunes was deprecated and the functionality was split into separate apps, Music, podcasts, and books, and syncing functionality was moved to Finder. I wouldn't exactly say iTunes was 'deleted'... it evolved.
I do not believe anything similar has happened regarding apps being removed or replaced since then.

I have a lot of audible books that were stored and used with iTunes. I had to buy another older computer with iTunes to transfer the audible books to my iPods. is there I way I was able to do this using Monterey 12.6.8

Yes, you could have done it in Finder.
I am using macOS Monterey Version 12.1. I've gone to finder and do not see where I can download audible books. this is my finder "service" area. where can I find how to download audible books to my computer?
you suggested I could have uploaded my audible books using the finder. when I go to the Finder to see how to upload my audible books that is what I see: keyboard-text-shortcuts.... how do I use the finder to upload my audible books?
I have no idea what you are showing.
