For anything I searched before Ventura, I'd automatically get a preview panel on the right side of Spotlight; I was able to preview each file before selecting the one needed. Now I'm unable to see the file until I double click. The preview also does not appear when I hit "tab" (a recommendation for BigSur).
How can I get the preview panel back?

Try to press the Space bar for QuickLook.
Building on previous suggestion.
Refer to image below using the suggested Space Bar method
To close the QuickLook - just press the Space Bar again
Notice in top right of image the wording " Open with Preview " confirms, to me, as being a QuickLook
Thanks for replying. Pressing the spacebar only highlights the selection :(

For me it opens the QuickLook. Try to boot to safe mode and log-in there for 2 minutes and then try again.
