Why do we need to have an Apple Pay? I don’t have one and it confuses me.

Apple Pay is a payment system. It is how you can use Apple devices to pay electronically, by the web, and by payment terminals at many points of sale. Payments are processed from various sources, including from credit and debit cards that can be loaded into the Apple Wallet app. If you don’t want to use Apple Pay, you don’t have to set it up. You can look at the setup, and then skip it.
