Adding a new card to Apple Pay

So I just bought a new phone and I want to add my debit card to my Apple Pay (I have used it before on my previous phone) however it doesn’t give me the option to add my card and instead redirects me to a website Add, use, and share boarding passes, tickets, and other passes in Apple Wallet - Apple Support

which is pretty useless. I just want to add my card to Apple Pay

In the Wallet app, do you see the Add button (+)? If so, tap it and then:

  • Tap Debit or Credit Card to add a new card.
  • Tap Previous Cards to add a card that you used previously.

  1. Tap Continue.
  2. Follow the steps on the screen to add a new card.
  3. Verify your information with your bank or card issuer. They might ask you to provide more information or to download an app before approving your card for use with Apple Pay.
  4. If you have a paired Apple Watch, you have the option to also add the card to your watch.

See Set up Apple Pay - Apple Support. If not, follow the troubleshooting steps in If you can't add a card to Apple Wallet to use with Apple Pay - Apple Support. Let us know how it goes.

Don’t change your Apple ID’s country or region, that has absolutely nothing to do with the Wallet App or Apple Pay and will cause unnecessary issues.

Go to to Settings ➡️ General ➡️ Language & Region ➡️ Region, and make sure its set to a country where Apple Pay is available.
