Apple tv app vanishing episode

After leaving appletv app on a Sony Bravia tv for a few moments, I returned to the app to continue watching the same programme only to find that that single episode has vanished. I have tried everything - clearing cache, uninstalling and reinstalling the app etc. I even attempted to watch the episode on my iPad only to find the episode missing there too. For info (not that I think it’s significant) it was The After Party, season 2, ep3.
