is there any way to know if someone has changed my old number to my new number

basically I changed my number from a UK number to a swiss number and now I've noticed that on whatsapp some peoples pfp have turned to default and i've also noticed that in messages I still have their name as what it is in my contacts however when I press the pfp it comes up as the number rather than the contacts name and it also says "recent" next to their number although I don't think i've called or messaged them in months and vice versa

As best I can tell, you're having a problem with WhatsApp. You'll need to contact them for assistance.

If I've misunderstood, try explaining it in a different way, preferably in discrete sentences with periods at the end rather than one run-on block of text. Also, explain what the acronym "pfp" means in this context.

apologies, in this context, "pfp" means profile picture. Before I changed my number, there was no pfp and when I pressed on the pfp it showed their contact name. Now, when I do this it just shows their number and I was wondering if this was because they didn't change my number or if maybe i've been blocked etc.
