how to access my iPhone to free some space to allow system update to be completed

My phone suddenly shut off and apple logo is on the screen, disappear every 10 minutes then come back to the screen, when I try to plug in to my MAC, it ask me either to update or restore. because system needs 4 GB and the free space is 112 MB only. how to access the iPhone to free some space without loosing my data !

You need multiple gigabytes of free space, not just to update your iPhone, but for your phone to operate well. You need to delete things off your iPhone you don't need or use. That could include apps, music, photos, messages, files, email, etc. You clearly don't have an iPhone with enough memory to match your needs. And you cannot add space to an iPhone. Honestly, you should really give high consideration to moving off an iPhone 6, which was released in 2014, 9 years ago.
