When selecting a thumbs up emoji on Apple Watch keyboard, it requires selecting the skin tone every time. This is not the case for other emoji's. Is this normal?

It seems that once any skin based emoji falls outside the block of frequently used emojis you need to tell it which tone to use.

I have the same issue when using yellow emojis. However, I have found if I select a skin tone emoji then I no longer get prompted.
Interestingly, this problem doesn't arise on my iPhone or iPad.
Seems like someone at Apple doesn't want people using yellow emojis on their watches.

I have the same complaint. Like my skin will change every hour or so??? Why is the skin color so important anyways?!?!?! Can APPLE simplify things PLEASE?
