Laistrop,

When the issue happens try disabling Bluetooth from Settings > Bluetooth to help rule out the device having connected to a nearby accessory.

You may also find some steps here that can help out with the microphones on the device not working as expected, as that could be a potential reason Siri doesn't hear: If the microphones on your iPhone aren't working - Apple Support

Along the same lines, when the issue happens try recording a voice memo using the included Voice Memos app, and play it back to listen. If the audio quality is poor and the above link hasn't helped then it may be best to reach out to Apple Support to explore servicing options: Get Support

Cheers.

Hi Laistrop,

Is the issue you're having only when using "Hey Siri"? If so, check out the steps below found in the article here: If "Hey Siri" isn't working on your iPhone - Apple Support

"Check if "Hey Siri" is turned on

  1. Go to Settings.
  2. Tap Siri & Search.
  3. From here, make sure the following settings are turned on:
    • Listen for "Hey Siri"
    • Allow Siri When Locked"

Be sure to test and complete the additional steps in the article. You can also check to ensure you're running the latest iOS version for your iPhone. Update your iPhone or iPad - Apple Support

If the issue continues, let us know a bit more about what's occurring and how you're attempting to activate Siri. Also, provide any errors or alerts you might be seeing.

Cheers.
