Batterie health abnormally decreasing

"Hi, I bought a used iPhone 13 (128GB) about a week ago. The battery level was at 99% when I got it. The phone was activated in January 2023 and is still under Apple warranty. However, I noticed that after my purchase, the number of charge cycles was already over 230, which seemed odd given the high battery percentage. Since then, the battery level has been consistently decreasing, dropping by 2% in 4 days. I would appreciate your input, especially considering the seller provided a non-original 20W charger. Your assistance in resolving this issue would be greatly appreciated. Thank you."

Doesn't sound abnormal - the average Apple Battery lasts about 2 years with normal use. Battery Health is an inexact figure that varies with usage. I would guess that a new battery may have been installed before your bought it. You needn't be concerned until the Battery Health reaches 80%, at which time you will need to make an appointment at the nearest Apple Store for Battery Replacement.

Kind of confusing.

An 8 month old phone would not be expected to be at 99%. Normally, it would in the 92-94% range after 8 months and continue to decline......on average.....about 1% a month. So, maybe the phone had a new battery replacement a month or two before you bought it.

But a drop of 2% in 4 days......if the rate remains constant....is roughly equivalent to a drop of 14-15% in a month. If that continues, the battery.....whether it was original or a new replacement.....will need to be replaced in less than 2 months.

Something seems wrong. I would make an appointment at the Apple Store or take the phone to an authorized Apple Service shop and let them run some tests on the battery.

They will probably say that the performance falls in the "normal" range of course. But, if the battery continues to drop at the current rate of decline, that is not normal.
