Hi ag909,

Thank you for participating in the Apple Support Communities. We understand the iOS update was corrupted during download. We recommend removing the download and updating again. This article has the steps: If your iPhone or iPad won't update.

"Remove and download the update again

If you still can't install the latest version of iOS or iPadOS, try downloading the update again:

  1. Go to Settings > General > [Device name] Storage.
  2. Find the update in the list of apps.
  3. Tap the update, then tap Delete Update.
  4. Go to Settings > General > Software Update and download the latest update.

If you don't see the update in the list of apps or if the issue happens again, you need to update your device with your computer:

Learn how to use recovery mode if your computer doesn't recognize your device or your screen is stuck on the Apple logo for several minutes without a progress bar."

We hope this helps.

Take care.

-SOLVED-

Model: iPhone 11 64GB

Current iOS: 16.7.1

  1. Follow If you can't update or restore your iPhone or iPod touch - Apple Support
  2. During iOS recovery mode, try up to date MacOS > Finder (same issue, MacOS was up to date)
  3. During iOS recovery mode, try up to date Windows iTunes (it helped via LAN internet connection on PC)

Before updating iOS devices, always recommended How to back up - Apple Support

Entering recovery mode didn't work for me either. Then I found this reddit page (https://www.reddit.com/r/applehelp/comments/167rvho/how_to_un_disable_iphone_12_itunes_says_the/) where some one suggested that the problem is that there is not enough storage left on the computer. I freed up some space and it worked. The update says it's 8GB but during the process, it needs to do something to the files and needs more space. You need about double the space of the update. In this case it used about 14/15GB.

Hope this helps ☺️
