I am trying to factory reset an iphone 4s that i cannot turn on. This device is may not be linked to my apple id since it may have been one of my kids' devices. Any suggestions would be appreciated.

Charge it for at least 15 minutes. The:
Press and hold both the Home and the Top (or Side) buttons for at least 10 seconds, until you see the Apple logo.
