My new Apple iPhone, when I try to launch some application (ie Facebook) is asking me for my Apple ID and Password. The Apple ID presented (which I cannot edit) is an OLD ID (an email address that has been inactive for 10+ years) of which I do not have the PW. However, when I look at my settings, my Apple ID in my settings is different than the ID prompted to access FB.

That usually means the apps where downloaded with that old Apple Id and will be forever tied to it and require it.
You can delete the affected Apps, and re-download them with your current Apple ID instead.

I don't use Facebook but I am wondering if it is something you configure using that app rather than a system wide setting.
