When transferring files from an old mac to a new mac, how can I be sure viruses, malware or corrupted files do not also transfer?

Successfully Transferring Data to a Mac:
A. Viruses:
You wont get a virus on your Mac --so put that concern aside.
B. Malware:
Scan your Mac with Malwarebytes for Mac:
Malwarebytes searches for malware(short for (malicious software) and spyware. Those make your Mac act in a mislead manor. So scan with it, and remove what is found from the quarantine. It is created by longtime users of these forums making it the only reliable Security Software for a Mac.
Downloads:
C. Corrupt Files:
Reinstall the macOS:
Go Here: How to Reinstall macOS from macOS Recovery - Apple Support. Important: Be certain to create a backup of your Mac prior to all of this. That way, you can have something to restore from the Mac from, should anything go wrong with the reinstall. Once reinstalled, try this once more.
Migration Assistant will transfer everything that can be transferred.
If you are having trouble with your old Mac, please describe what it is. In other words why do you think your Mac has viruses, malware or corrupted files?
Often when I click on buttons (say "continue" or "apply" or "add to cart") that opens window to a completely different website, usually related to what I am doing, possibly legit, possibly not. Unless I notice I'm in a new window, I've found myself filing out forms (name address, etc) for a totally different website. Might be phishing, or identity theft, but it's definitely malware. It's not detected by my security software. Macs are not immune.
I understand certain website links, notwithstanding whether they are buttons, images, or links, cause an unexpected "redirect" to a completely different website.
Despite the fact its title refers to an unrelated subject, please read Removing "Search Marquis" / "Search Baron" / etc on your own - Apple Community, and post the three screenshots it describes in a reply to this Discussion.
It's not detected by my security software.
Uninstall your security software. Follow its uninstallation instructions, assuming you can find them, and that they actually work. Rule 1 of Macs is don't install junk. It is imperative that you do that prior to upgrading macOS.
