Hi there ruthie299,

If this is happening with an iCloud email account, then the steps below may help you:

Indicate that an email isn’t junk
1. In Mail on iCloud.com, click the Junk folder in the Mailboxes list.
2. Select the message or messages, then do one of the following:
* If you selected one message: Click the Reply, Reply All, Forward button, then click Move to Inbox.
* If you selected multiple messages: Click Mark, then click “Move to Inbox.”

Subsequent messages from the same sender are no longer automatically marked as junk.

Those steps are from this article: Manage junk mail in Mail on iCloud.com

Keep in mind, that you'll need to do those above steps on the iCloud website. Here is the link for that: iCloud If needed, the steps below show how to do this on other devices:

Mark legitimate emails as not junk
Filtering out junk mail can block a legitimate email from reaching your inbox.

If you feel that a legitimate email message was accidentally filtered, you can mark it as not junk so that any future messages from the same sender go to your inbox:
* On your iPhone or iPad, open the message in the Junk folder, tap the Move to Folder button  at the bottom of the screen, then tap Inbox to move the message.
* On your Mac, select the message in the Junk folder and click the Junk button in the Mail toolbar. Or just drag the message to the Inbox in the sidebar.
* On iCloud.com, click the Junk folder in the sidebar. Select the message, then click Not Junk at the top of the message window. Or just drag the message to the Inbox in the sidebar.
* For other mail clients, move the message from the Junk folder to the inbox.

If you notice that multiple email messages are being delayed, bounced, or not delivered, contact iCloud Support. Email messages in the Junk folder are automatically deleted after 30 days.

That information is from this article: Report and reduce spam in iCloud Mail

We hope that helps.

Take care.
