Coming from an android I am thinking that my iPhone would be smarter, but I can’t find any way to organize all of my apps in alphabetical order. Hopefully somebody has some sort of go around or please don’t tell me I have to do it manually.

I would like to sort my apps within folders alphabetically. That would be a nice option.
You can sort of do this:
1. Open the Settings app and go to General > Reset > Reset Home Screen Layout.
2. All of your downloaded apps will be put in alphabetical order.
3. The built-in apps will return to their original positions on your first screen, so if you want them to be in alphabetical order, you will need to move them manually.
Honestly, I find it better to have apps organized in folders by function, such as Entertainment, Productivity, Apple Apps, etc., but above is the closest you can get to an alphabetical order.
No. There is no “resort in Home Screen layout.” What’s frustrating is that I alphabetized once before and can’t remember how I did it.

You can do that, but you'll need to do it yourself as iPhone doesn't offer this feature.
I have iPhone 11 so you can’t alphabetical order the apps the way you said
There are apparently some apps that are programmed to trick the setting and sort themselves to the front page, and ignore the alphabetical rule. Makes me want to uninstall them out of spite.

You can arrange them in any order you want and organize apps on different screens. There is currently not a setting that will list all apps in alphabetical order. If that is something you would like, you can send feedback here:

Use the link to send feedback if you would find that feature helpful. Users have always been able to place the apps exactly where they want them.

Alphabetized after organizing by function in a folder. Organizing 101…to bad you can’t do that.
