Saving Title Presets in Final Cut Pro??

Hi there,

I'm trying to find the best way to do this but it doesn't seem as clear as I'd like.

Often when I'm creating videos, I'll grab the Title I want but then make various changes - transform, position, font size etc etc - Is there a way to save all those changes so that when I drag over the Title it already has all my changes applied?

thanks a lot!

The part relating to text is easy: you can save a Text Style. Click "Normal" in the Text Inspector - that is really a popup menu and you can save your style.

This, however, does not save changes applied in the Video Inspector, like Transform or Scale.

If you have Motion, a better solution is to control-click the title you want, choose Open a Copy in Motion, make the desired changes, and save. This will add a new title, which of course you can name, that will always be available to you from the Title Browser.

A way you can speed up the process is by pasting the attributes (the transforms) from a finished title to the others.

Select a title that has all the transforms applied and copy it. Then when you've roughly created all the remaining titles, select them all and choose Command+Shift V to paste attributes. You can either select them directly in the timeline or use the Timeline Index. In the paste attributes dialog, enable the transforms you want pasted.
