I was experimenting with creating Groups in the Contacts app in MacOS. After creating a few test groups, I wanted to delete some. Clicking them and pressing Delete or any combination of keys does nothing. There is no option to delete when right-clicking. I am unable to select Delete under the Edit menu, it's greyed out.

You could try quitting, and re-opening Contacts, to check whether you can now delete ok.
If not, Quit Contacts, Restart your Mac (Apple menu > Restart) and log back in, Open Contacts and check again.

The contacts who are in the list aren’t deleted from Contacts.

Thank you, I think quitting Contacts and restarting the laptop helped. I am now able to delete Groups simply by selecting and then pressing the 'delete' key.
