iPhone 13 - not receiving calls

Hello, I’ve an iPhone 13 running on 16.6. In the past week I’m unable to receive calls.

From my end, it rings, I answer, the call timer begins but it does not connect. It’s just silence. From the callers end, it does not connect. Its hanging at calling.

I’ve restarted, reset network settings, checked do not disturb, checked Bluetooth devices, toggled airplane on/off. Cleaned the sim.

There is no problem with outgoing calls.

Any other suggestions pls.

Hey Geraldine_k,

We'll be happy to help! Have you also checked for a carrier settings update? Go to Settings > General > About to see if one is available. Here's some more information about carrier settings updates: Manually update your carrier settings on your iPhone or iPad - Apple Support. This can sometimes resolve issues related to the carrier. You could also reach out the carrier to make sure there are no issues on their end.

Cheers.

Hi Geraldine_k, Thank you telling us about that detail. We’d like to gather additional details that may help us be in a better position to assist you.

  1. Does the issue seem to happen on multiple locations?
  2. Does it seem like you are getting a good cellular signal?
  3. Are you able to send and receive SMS/MMS?
  4. Are you able to send and receive iMessages?
  5. Are you able to use cellular data to browse the internet?
  6. Are you able to make and receive FaceTime calls through a cellular data?
  7. Are you able to make and receive FaceTime calls through a Wi-Fi network?

The answer to the questions above can help further isolate the issue.

If possible, we recommend that you test a different active SIM card on your iPhone, or test your SIM card on a different phone. This step can also help further isolate the issue.

Take care!

Hi Geraldine_k,

To make sure you have checked all possible settings, follow the steps under "Check your settings" in If you can't make or receive calls on your iPhone. Also, as it can affect how you receive phone calls, see if turning on or off Wi-Fi calling helps Make a call with Wi-Fi Calling.

If it continues, as you've already contacted your carrier, contact Apple Support for further assistance: Get Support.

Take care.
