Every time I try to update my apps it asks me to sign in to apple and says there is a billing problem

I’ve tried everything within my knowledge to fix my issue but I have been unsuccessful. I have an IPhone 11 and everytime I try to update my apps or download one it asks me to sign in to apple and then it says there is a billing problem. I do not have any subscriptions and all my apps are free. How do I fix this?
