Mail not opening

I began having problems when clicking on Mail and the login failed. Now when I click on Mail it doesn't even open. I have reinstalled the operating system (Ventura), but this has not helped. I also have rebooted the MacBook Pro several times, again to no avail. I have checked my institutions webmail app, and I find it is working.
