Windows, Windows 10
Ah, the classic "Why is my technology defying me?" conundrum. Happens to the best of us. So you've embarked on the perilous journey of changing your Apple ID, huh? And now iTunes on your Windows 10 machine is holding onto the past like it's a nostalgic mixtape. Can't let go, can it?
Alright, let's help it move on, shall we?
1. **Log Out and Back In**: Have you tried the age-old trick of logging out and back in? Sometimes you have to remind iTunes who's boss. Go to the "Account" menu and sign out, and then try to sign back in with the new ID.
2. **Deauthorize and Reauthorize**: Go into iTunes, click on the "Account" menu, then select "Authorizations," and finally "Deauthorize This Computer." After you've done that, reauthorize the computer. Maybe then iTunes will realize you've moved on.
3. **Uninstall/Reinstall**: If all else fails, go nuclear. Uninstall iTunes and related Apple software (Apple Software Update, Apple Mobile Device Support, Bonjour, etc.) and then download and install iTunes anew. Make sure to restart your PC in between.
4. **Check for Updates**: While you're at it, ensure you've got the latest version of iTunes. An update might fix this mid-life crisis it’s having.
5. **Contact Support**: If the above steps don't work and iTunes is still stuck in the past, you might need to escalate it. A trip to Apple Support may be in order.
But hey, you've already changed one complicated thing—your Apple ID. So, clearly, you're not to be trifled with.
