What is a recommended external blu-ray burner for Mac pro?

MAC PRO Quad CORE, Mac OS X (10.6.1), MacBook Pro i7 17 inch, iPhone 4, IMAC (older model), 3g iPAD, Matrox MXO2 LE

Interesting topic...
Has anyone heard about an updated version of the Studio suite with something that would allow to author nice BRs ? not only through the share option that does not permit -unless I don't use it properly - to get a nice BR disk with chapters that can be selected from the main menu ...

I have not used the Share feature in FC (7.0.3). What I can tell you is if you prepare a QT file in the usual way, and use Compressor to create a BD (using "Create New Batch From Template" in the file menu, you can also export chapter markers from a FC sequence.

Compresor has the presets to create a BD, though with limited menu options, that produce really nice results. DVDStudio does not support BD. There is some customizing of the menu in Compressor, like backgrounds, but that's about it.

Your other option is to use Toast 10 with Blu Ray plug in, or Encore (if that is available for Mac).
