WiFi access password sharing

My daughters, iBook keeps requesting all other Mac devices in the house for a network password share, and our devices start try to share the password.

However it is already connected to the network that we are being asked to share the password for.

Does anyone know why this may be happening?

it only started about 3 or 4 days ago, but it now happens roughly every minute of every day since.

Hello Andrew McNeill,

You will need to “forget” this Wi-Fi network on her MacBook.

On her Mac :

  1. Choose Apple menu  > System Settings.
  2. Click Wi-Fi in the sidebar.
  3. Click Details next to the network you're using.
  4. Click Forget This Network, then click Remove to confirm.

Then join the Wi-Fi network by selecting it and entering the password yourself.

Greetings Andrew McNeill,

This appears to be unexpected behavior and we'd like to provide you with a few steps that can assist you with correcting this behavior:

1. Restart your Mac. This May seem like a simple steps to take but can refresh your Mac and the software.

On your Mac, choose Apple menu  > Restart.

2. Be sure your Mac is running the latest compatible software version. This can often resolve issues that are related to the software( It's a good idea to back up your Mac): Update macOS on Mac

We hope this helps.

Take care.
