Trade-in in person? For Iphone upgrade program

You may need to call a store and ask them if they have the facilities for doing this. I am only familiar with the online service.

Did you contact the delivery company ask ask them if there is any coverage for loss?

They only mention doing this online. I know you can recycle iPhones at a store but I do not know if they have the facilities for doing a trade-in since that likely involves evaluation of the device.
