Hello Enel2022,

The iPhone only accesses emails from the email provider. To learn more about this, are these emails showing up on the email provider's website when you sign in to check it? Which email provider are you using? Do any emails appear in the Trash folder, once you've deleted them? Are they reappearing in the all inboxes section? The more we can understand about what's happening, the better we can assist.

Make sure the iPhone is up to date for the latest fixes: Update your iPhone or iPad

Hoping to hear back.

Take care.

Hello Enel2022,

We recommend removing the email account and adding it back using the steps here: Add and remove email accounts on iPhone - Apple Support

"Add email accounts

The first time you open the Mail app on your iPhone, you may be asked to set up an email account—just follow the onscreen instructions.

To add additional email accounts, do the following:

  1. Go to Settings  > Mail > Accounts > Add Account.
  2. Do one of the following:
    • Tap an email service—for example, iCloud or Microsoft Exchange—then enter your email account information.
    • Tap Other, tap Add Mail Account, then enter your email account information.

Log out of or remove email accounts

  1. Go to Settings  > Mail > Accounts.
  2. Tap the email account you want to remove, then do one of the following:
    • If you’re removing an iCloud email account: Tap iCloud, tap iCloud Mail, then turn off “Use on this iPhone.”
  • If you’re removing another email account: Turn off Mail.
    • Note: To remove the email account from all apps on your iPhone, tap Delete Account."

Take care.

Me too! I tried everyone's suggestions, but still, the emails always reappeared in the All Mail (gmail), and/or Archive (Mac) on my Mac BookPro. I spent hours/days, trying everyone's suggestions. Nothing worked, all deleted emails kept coming back! My blood pressure was rising.

My problem was solved when I finally remembered, my laptop computer, a Mac BookPro, is 'networked' off my husband's desktop iMac computer which is the primary source from the internet. Using HIS computer: first I (again) deleted all unwanted emails from every folder and mailbox. Then I erased deleted emails from Trash on his iMac. Lo-n-behold, when I checked my laptop, all those hundreds of emails were gone and they never came back.

I sure hope hope THIS solution works for others.

Hi. I’m using outlook.com,

my phone is up to date I think, the last update recently was IOS16.6

when I delete emails they go into the bin folder and then I delete them as a group from there, via edit, select all, delete. This was working but I now have all my deleted emails going back to 2007 reappeared. I use safari for browsing etc and delete data through ‘Safari delete data’ in settings at the end of each day. The old emails have not reappeared on my same email account on my laptop, just the iPhone. Hope that info helps you, Thankyou for your response.
