control not working on wired earbuds
Is there a setting for Apple wired earbuds not working? I can get sound, but controls don’t work. I have to hit play/stop & volume one phone screen not on wired controls.

It states the following:
When you use Apple headphones with earlier Apple products, you might be able to play audio, but not use other features. For example, volume or playback control might not work with Apple EarPods with 3.5 mm Headphone Plug on some iPod models.
If you're using a compatible device that works with the controls, then try following all the troubleshooting steps listed here: If your headphones don't work with your iPhone or iPad - Apple Support
You might also want to connect them to a different iPhone to see if that helps out. The would be a great step to further isolate this issue.
