what if my Mac isn't showing me any new update in App Store and setting

I can't update my Mac beyond Sierra. `when I entered the apple store there were no available updates for my Mac. Settings wasnt of much help. I can't download basic app because it says I have to update my computer to something different.

If you tell us your Mac's hardware model name and year (from the About This Mac dialog in the Apple () menu, we can tell you how far you can upgrade macOS. (Please don't post the serial number from that dialog.)


By default, the App Store hides all but the most recent version of macOS, so it's likely that to get the upgrades your Mac can run, you'll need to go through this Apple Support link:

You gave no details on your Mac, so this is just a guess. Your info is for iPhone so no details there either.


The message is telling you exactly what the problem is; your Mac is simply too old to use the more modern apps and OS versions.


The solution is to buy a new, or newer, Mac than meets the requirements.


For an up to date browser use Firefox or Brave. They often work just fine on older Macs.
