Sharing iCloud contacts

Hello all,

My problem is that I’ve decided to use iCloud contacts and I imported vCard with all my contacts there. After importing, there is only one contact that created a problem but as far as I’m concerned, the important ones are imported correctly.

My surprised was when I activated iCloud contacts in my iPhone and I’m missing some contacts. What I tried so far was:

  • Turn off and on again iCloud contacts (by doing this I deleted contacts from my Phone to kind of reset)
  • I Deleted all my contacts from iCloud and import another vCard, then synchronise the iPhone again but same contacts missing
  • All my contacts appear in iCloud.com -> contacts

Thank you in advance.

Best regards

iPhone 12 Pro, iOS 16

Hi Migos46,

Thanks for contacting Apple Support Communities!

We understand that you've been unable to sync all contacts from iCloud to your iPhone.

Check out this resource which explains how to troubleshoot Contacts that won't sync: If your iCloud Contacts, Calendars, or Reminders won’t sync - Apple Support

"Set iCloud Contacts, Calendars, or Reminders as your default

If your contacts, calendars, and reminders are in iCloud, then iCloud automatically updates your information. If your information is in a third-party account, like Google or Yahoo, you can change your default account to iCloud. Changing your default account to iCloud won't move your existing information from a third-party service to iCloud.

Contacts

To see which account your contacts are in:

In iOS 16 or later:

  1. Open the Contacts app and tap Lists in the upper-left corner.
  2. Select "All iCloud" to see your list of contacts in iCloud. If you don't see the contact you're looking for, it might be stored in a different account.
  3. Tap Lists in the upper-left corner, then tap "All [account]" to check each individual account set up for Contacts.
  4. If you have a copy of your contacts from a third-party service in vCard format version 3.0 or later, you can import the contacts into iCloud."

We hope this helps you.

Cheers!

Hi Miche11e_P,

Thank you so much for you extensive reply, really appreciated.

After trying all of the apple tips like the ones in your answer and not getting the expected result, I'¡ve decided to contact apple support directly. Surprisingly, there is a sync problem between iCloud and iOS and they have escalated the problem because it couldn't be resolved with the basic tutorials.

I will keep you informed if there is a solution for that.

Thank again.

Cheers!
