MacBook Pro is typing wrong symbols
When I press shift 2 I get the € symbol. Also pressing shift k gives me the apple symbol. How do I change this back to normal?

Those two symbols appear when you hold down the Option key.
Shift+Option+2 = €
Shitft+Option+k =
So either you are accidentally hitting the Option key or the option key on your Mac is stuck somehow.

MacBook Pro models use are shipped with one of a few dozen language-specific physical keyboards, featuring glyphs to facilitate use with a specific language.
Through the use of Keyboard "input Sources' the Mac can use those physical keyboards to support HUNDREDs of world-wide languages.

I am in the US, with a US keyboard, and use the 'U.S.' keyboard translation.

Are those the only two keys where shift does not work as expected?

Keyboard Viewer outlines any of those modifier keys that it sees as pressed.
