Using Sidecar with Macbook and iPad

I would like to use Sidecar to use an IPad Pro or iPad Air with by Macbook.

My question is does the specification of the iPad affect performance?

For example is the processing power all coming from the Mac and the iPad just being used a screen or does some of the processing power come from the iPad.

And is any of this affected if using an Apple Pencil?

Apple sidecar question I’m currently using a macbook pro 13” from 2017 and it is up to the latest update which is Ventura version. I also have an ipad pro m2 and it is now in ipados 17. I tried the sidecar feature but it only works for a few minutes and my ipad crashed and the screen sharing was not working sgain. Is there any solutions to this or is it that my mac is too old?

Portrait mode Sidecar How I can make my iPad in portrait view mode ? The wireless connection is so fine I'm not facing any problem, only when I rotate my iPad to portrait mode, the screen not rotate with it. then I figure out it is an issue not easy to view my iPad as secondary screen over Sidecar connection in portrait mode without third party application. Please advise how I can do that through macOS configuration only, there are some apps such as duet or etc... but I don't want that.

Sidecar on iPad Hi all, Yesterday I bought an iPad 10th Generation for it to pair to my Macbook Pro (Ventura 13.4). My intent is to draw on the iPad using my Apple Pen and for this to be mirrored on the Mac monitor. For some reason the iPad does not seem to have Sidecar. As far as I can see the 10th generation (2022) iPad should support it. It's on version 16.5. If I go into Control Centre on the iPad I see Screen Recording but not Screen Mirroring. Am I missing something? Also any nice apps which allow me to write on the iPad for it to be mirrored onto the Mac? Using Duet but it's not as nice as I was hoping i.e. can't even write a 'dot "." Thanks
