The standard AppleCare plan (not AppleCare+) will cover a battery replacement if within the standard one year warranty, battery health dips to 80% or less.

If you paid for AppleCare+, for two years, if the battery health dips to 80% or less, it will cost you $29 for a battery replacement.

If you didn't buy an AppleCare+ plan, and you are no longer inside the one year warranty AND your iPhone battery health is 80% or less, a new battery will cost you $89.
