Bootcamp windows application / apple hardware drivers

I recently installed Windows on my Mac through bootcamp. Everything went well until windows started up and then I got the bootcamp installer which started but then stopped responding for a few hours. When I restarted my laptop there was no signs of the bootcamp assistant windows application that normally gets installed and you can see the icon in the task menu.

Is this something that can be installed after? Windows seems to be running pretty well without it, except the mouse and keyboard not being as good as a previous install I had on another Mac.

Many thanks.

Perry

Hello Perry99,

If the Boot Camp wont open to install Windows, you can try these steps:

1. From File Explorer, open the OSXRESERVED partition, which is usually the D drive.
2. If you don't have this OSXRESERVED partition, follow the steps to download and install Windows support software instead of the steps in this article.
3. Open the BootCamp folder, then open Setup. Open Setup only from this folder, not another location.*
4. When you're asked to allow Boot Camp to make changes to your device, click Yes.
5. Click Repair to begin installation.
6. After installation completes, click Finish, then click Yes when you're asked to restart your Mac.

If the Boot Camp installer doesn't open after using Boot Camp Assistant

Cheers!
