Ethernet speed unusably slow, fixes after reboot but happens again

I have a UCB-C to ethernet adapter by Belkin. I actually have multiple of different brands.

Whenever I plug in my ethernet cable, the internet speed becomes excruciatingly slow.

The issue is fixed by a reboot and I actually get gigabit speed after the reboot.

But it is very inconvenient to have to reboot every time.

This is not a network config issue and everything is just the default setting.

I don't have any vpns, proxies, custom network setting or anything like that.

I have 2021 M1 16" macbook running Ventura 13.4.1.

Any help is appreciated.

Quite a few things could be going on here.

The fact that your performance improves after a reboot suggests that you might be using a lot of RAM. How much RAM do you have? If it's only 8GB, that could be part of the problem.

Rebooting the ethernet adapter may suggest the problem, too. In time, every device will have to be reset - depending on your setup. (I have to reboot my modem every week or so.)
