older macbook frozen during update
My partner has an older MacBook and he started trying to install updates a few days ago. Since then, it's been stuck on the screen with the logo, the status bar, and "Estimating Time Remaining." He turned the wifi off on it before he started the update. Could that be the problem?
We tried waiting, but nothing changed after around 8 hours. We tried restarting it but it just went back to that screen. When we follow instructions to try to get it into safe mode, it just immediately comes back on that screen and starts restarting over and over.
I don't know exactly how old it is, but I know it's probably at least 10 years old. I have no idea what he was updating to or updating from and I don't know how to find anything out because we can't get off of this screen. Is there anything else I should be doing?
