How do I trade users on 2 iPhone 13s?

I have a 13 Pro and a 13 Pro Max. I am currently using the Max as my personal phone and the Pro as our home phone. I want to switch to the smaller form factor for my personal phone and make the home phone the larger one. Is a factory reset on both and then switch the SIMs the best way to do this?

Make sure each iPhone has a unique name (Settings/General/About) so you can tell them apart.
Back up each phone to a computer, iCloud, or both→How to back up your iPhone, iPad, and iPod touch - Apple Support
Switch SIMS.
Restore each iPhone from other phone’s backup→Restore your iOS device from a backup - Apple Support

Note that a SIM ONLY contains your phone number; no data are stored on the SIM.
