If I'm on the left side of the split view and I want to click on the Mickey Mouse link, I have to click twice. The first click focuses on the right side of the split view, and only the second click opens the link.

Because an app has to be in focus before you can interact with it.
MacOS does not offer automatic pointer or keyboard focus when changing application windows. You must click to get application window focus and then a second click to access the application's content.

I understand that the app needs to be in focus, as I mentioned earlier. However, my question remains: is it possible to modify the settings so that a single click can both focus on the app and perform the desired action simultaneously?
