can I use usbc to iPad Pro 11 (2022)

I need to buy a SD card reader for my IPad Pro 11 version latest? I just bought it yesterday.

Will a USB-C hub work or do I need a Thunderbolt plug in for it to work with the iPad?

Apple market a USB-C to SD Card Reader:

If you already have an SD Card Reader with a USB connection, you might consider connecting this to either a compatible third-party USB-C hub, or an Apple USB-C Digital AV Multiport Adapter:
