Audio Message Not Recording First Few Seconds

Hello! I have an iPhone X on iOS 16.6. I have had a persisting issue in which when I record audio messages, my phone doesn't pick up any noise for the first 3-5 seconds, and then carries on as normal. I have tried resetting my phone and turning off sound recognition but it still is persisting. My audio messages do work but it is annoying to explain to each person I send one to that the silence for the first few seconds is normal. Any ideas on how to fix this that doesn't include a hard reset?

If you are having trouble with the mic on your iPhone, you can see if these steps help If the microphones on your iPhone aren't working.

If it continues, as you are already up to date, contact Apple Support here Get Support before going through the process of restoring your iPhone as that can be an invasive step.
