My Fitness app on my Apple Watch is not awarding me additional hiking badges

Hi all,

I noticed that after my initial short hike of around 4km, I received the first hiking badge. However, subsequent to that, I’ve completed several hikes but haven’t been awarded any additional hiking badges.

Could you please assist me in understanding why this might be the case and help rectify this issue? I would greatly appreciate your support in resolving this matter.

Thank you for your attention to this matter.

Hello everyone,

I wanted to share an update regarding an issue I encountered with hiking badges in the Fitness app, hoping this might help others who come across a similar situation.

In order to be eligible for the golden badge (record awards), it’s essential to complete at least five workouts of the same activity. It’s from the sixth workout onward that the system begins to recognize and award new record badges.

In my case, I achieved my personal best in terms of distance and elevation gains during my third hike. However, since this achievement fell within the initial five sessions, it was not recognized as a personal record for badge distribution purposes.

It’s worth noting that if, like me, you happen to reach a significant milestone within these first five activities, the system won’t award you the golden badge for it. Achievements within these initial sessions aren’t considered for personal record badges.

It might be helpful if this mechanic was more clearly communicated within the app. But I hope sharing this here helps clarify the situation for anyone else encountering similar badge distribution issues.

To provide further details on the matter: I’ve successfully earned all the badges related to running and cycling, including those for longest record and workout record. Yet, the hiking badges remain elusive after that first 4km hike.

I’ve double-checked, and this isn’t a synchronization issue since the data on my Apple Watch mirrors what I see in the fitness app. All my hiking activities are correctly recorded, so I’m beginning to suspect there might be a bug specific to my account.

Has this happened to anyone else? And if so, how did you manage to resolve it?

I would truly value any insights or assistance the community can offer.

Thank you once again for your attention.
