How do I stop two ipads from syncing

I just bought a new ipad and transferred data from old ipad to new one. I want to keep the old ipad for now but I find if I change a setting like do not disturb on one ipad it changes both ipads. I tried turning off icloud drive but that does not help. Both ipads use the same Apple ID. What do I need to change to stop this?

As described, with Do Not Disturb being synchronised between devices, you are Focus Sharing between your devices. This can be changed in iPad settings:

Settings > Focus > Share Across Devices - set to OFF
