I'm having trouble connecting to a brother hl-ld930dw on the network.

it does not appear in a list of airpirnt printers when I try to add it to the network.

The Brother HL-L2390DW is listed in About AirPrint - Apple Support as a model supporting Apple's AirPrint technology. An AirPrint-enabled model can be used without additional drivers if the printer and the Mac computer are connected to the same network (Wi-Fi router). Brother recommends using AirPrint with this printer.


To begin with, it may be wise to check whether the printer firmware has been updated. In the case

of the Brother HL-L2390DW, the latest version appears to be 01/12/2023 (ZA).

You may also want to try resetting the printing system and re-adding the printer.

Power off the Wi-Fi router, the printer, the Mac, and all other computers/devices. Wait two to three minutes. Power on the router. Wait two to three minutes. Power on the printer. Wait a minute or two. Power on the Mac. Finally, power on all other computers/devices.
