Remembering Passcode after forgetting

I remember my passcode after my 6S locked for to many wrong attempts.

Can remembering the original passcode be helpful now? Is there a way to set my phone to try to accept the passcode without connecting to iTunes? When connected to iTunes will it help to know the original passcode?
