security locked iPad mini 5. cannot access iTunes under Apple Music to unlock. on MacBook Pro please help

hi community. thank you in advance for your help. I am trying to unlock my iPad mini. last it was used was in may. I locked myself out of it. now I am trying to unlock it, but it is in/on security lockout. I am looking around for answers and saw that I would have to use my laptop (MacBook Pro) to unlock it by using iTunes through Apple Music. which I cannot find. please help. (MacBook Pro Apple Music does not have preferences as an option)
