Problem opening files in Finder

Sorry for my English, it’s not my first language.

I just moved from PC to Mac (Mac Air, M2), and downloaded my working files (all in odt extensions), saved in folders and subfolders (5 degrees deep).

I’m using Libreoffice (version 7.5). When I click in a odt file from Finder, only files on a subfolder in a three-level (considering documents a first level) open in Writer. If a file is four-degree deep or more, Finder opens just the Startscreen in LibreOffice.

Any ideas why does it happen? Is it a limitation from MacOS and nested folders?

Thanks,

MacBook Air 15″, macOS 13.3

It shouldn't matter how far down the hierarchy the folder is, if you double click on the file, it should open.

If you double click on a folder, you get the folder's contents.

If double clicking on a deeply embedded file brings up the LibreOffice start screen, as opposed to opening the file, that sounds like a situation you need to query the suite's developers about.
