Ipad air 5 with external monitor & sound on iPad using Google Meet - Here's how.
This is not really a question but rather just sharing something I accidentally discovered in the hopes of helping others with the same issue or experience.
I am using an iPad Air 5 connected to bluetooth speaker and an external monitor that has no speaker. The ipad does not play sound on the ipad itself when connected to an external monitor without speakers. The only work around is connecting the iPad to a bluetooth speaker. Works pretty much on any situation.
However, sometimes, I want the sound to come from the iPad which it cant. I dont know why. But I accidentally made it work using google meet with these steps...
- not connecting the external monitor yet, start up the meeting on google meet on ipad
- Once the meeting is underway, connect the ipad to the external monitor.
- move google meet to the monitor ("move to display")
The result is google meet on the TV while sound and mic is on the ipad. .. Now, I saw an option (finally) on the upper right of google meet (The sound icon) where i can choose between ipad or BT speaker.. once i click on BT, sound comes from the BT speaker... but the wierd thing is when i try to click on "iPad" too make the sound return to iPad, it wont... its just stays on BT.. So i had to restart my process to get the ipad speakers working again... Conclusion - I dont know if this is a glitch or by design. But it works every time.
Hope this helps. I will update trying other apps like zoom and messenger when i get the chance.
