2021 iPad Pro 5th. Gen. Networking Protocols?

Further to an earlier discussion regarding the 5th. Gen. iPad Pro 2021 not supporting some USB-C hubs, I contacted Anker Support after first encountering the same issue with my own Anker Power Expand 11-in-1 hub not being recognised on my iPad Pro 2021. The gentleman from Anker I was chatting with said it seemed the networking protocols in the 2021 iPad Pro were not compatible with the hub.

As readers will be aware there is no such issue with the use of Anker hubs on iPad models with USB-C ports up to 2020. Also, there is no issue with compatibility using macOS.I decided to submit a Hardware/Software suggestion to Apple Feedback.

The question I would like to ask here in discussions is if it is possible for a software update to address this particular issue? Many thanks.

Assuming that you have not encountered a hardware limitation or fault, it is technically possible that a software update can resolve compatibility problem.

Whether or not Apple have identified a software issue that requires a fix with a software update, unless already publicly acknowledged, is known only to Apple.

Unfortunately, posting here will do nothing to encourage Apple to investigate and resolve a potential issue...

The Apple Support Community is a user-to-user technical community. Contributors here are all end-users, just like you. Other than the site Moderators, Apple neither monitor nor participate within the Support Community. As such, if your intent is to communicate a problem to Apple, your post will completely evade your intended audience.

Apple do, however, invite submission of comments and Bug Reports via its Product Feedback portal. For iPad and iPadOS:

If you do wish to bring an issue to Apple's attention, this is one channel through which to communicate the details of the problem. Alternatively, you can seek assistance directly from Apple Support.

You can contact the Support Team using the Support link at top-right or bottom-left of this page. Alternatively, you can initiate and manage your support cases from Apple devices using the excellent Apple Support App. If not already installed, the App can be downloaded from the App Store:

This issue has now being resolved with a recent update. My iPad Pro is now supporting my Anker 11-in-1 USB-C hubs. Phew, that was a breath-taking few months. Of all devices, hubs are particularly necessary for the iPads with one port. Great to know that the teams at Apple do read and respond to bug reports received even though replies are not given. I can imagine how the volume of reports Apple receives does not allow replies.

All done already. Further resources contacted have been Anker, Apple Support, and Feedback to Apple. In fact, it was following suggestion by Apple Support that I have created a profile here in the community.

However, I am happy to reassure you that I do understand what the aims of the community are. Thank you for your suggestions.
